Between Wednesday and Monday, you need to practice shooting. A lot.
I want you to make at least 400 frames with the camera. Start with nouns – inanimate objects, things, items. Try each one at various apertures, focal lengths, camera-to-subject distances. Play.
Then move on to verbs – objects in motion. Again, experiment, play, practice.
Why is this important? Name one thing that you can become an expert at without practicing. Name one thing you can start doing at a high level the moment you first try it.
Sports? Music? Painting? Math? Writing? Gardening?
Listen to John Free talk about the need for practice:
The first piece of software we are going to work with is called Photo Mechanic – it’s one of my two all-time favorite pieces of software ever. To get you ready for Monday, please watch this video tutorial:
In the video I made reference to a handout to walk you through the steps, good idea to keep that link handy.
In addition, you should take a quick look at the caption handout, too.
